Dating websites can and do attract the wrong kind of people sometimes and it is important to be vigilant about how you proceed.
Never share personal information until you feel you have met and feel comfortable with someone and never respond to anyone who tells you they are in need of money for a worthy cause.
Many people, on general sites, are divorced or never married, and have trust issues and/or are jumping from woman to woman.
I met my late fiancé on Seniorpeoplemeet, and went back to that site.
Most websites are comprised of divorced people, who turn out to be "serial daters," although they profess to be interested in a long-term relationship.
I joined two websites, supposedly for widows and widowers. (no profiles about the men, difficult to maneuver, hardly any photos, etc.) Most widowed people had long, happy marriages and would like to meet like-minded people, who want the same, again.

One other option I just thought of you could try would be Internet dating is always going to carry a small risk - but so is meeting a stranger in a bar or sports club.If someone has duplicated a profile it is quickly removed.I totally agree that it is annoying when you come across divorced members and these should also be reported to the managers of the site. is very carefully moderated and is payment protected. DateA seat has been dedicated in memory of Eileen Proctor, R.
They have a very large membership base so I am sure you will find some singles with that status at I paid for a three month membership and got many "wants to meet you" notices. I even saw some people with more than 1 profile..time fraud and hardly anyone in my area either...first one that reached out to me was saying he lived in Syria but would be in US soon and willing to relocate... Not sure about the authenticity of dating websites for widowers, but wants to share a suggestion that you should try some other good websites that are not involved in fraud and allow widowers to make their profiles on them, because mainly people look for the website that is reliable either for the one that is specialized in a particular field.
