Anyway, doing what you said, I uninstalled the Java and the bit torrent client. Then reinstall the Java and the newer version that I supposed to upgrade my current client version to. I know it is too much for a request but can you look at it?

I'm just thought because I upgraded my client before but I encounter nothing like this.. Here is the link of my other post: Installation Problem After Changing User Account Name? I successfully downloaded and installed 8.25 (avoiding the 'free bloatware' bundled with it.) I ran the uninstall routine and was assured that I'd... Hopefully someone could help, Everything was working fine yesterday (05/06/2013) then when i turn on today (06/06/2013) i cannot run any applications that are running java. Java was updating and I was browsing chrome(2 tabs open).

If I try to install it now, it runs into the old version and wont uninstall it for some reason.

So what do I have to do to get rid of it like I never installed it in the first place???

When I choose NO, the installer will proceed normally but will show the same Java error.

Try these things and report back and we can go from there if not solved. When I'm logged in under my credentials I keep getting the little popup note that I need to update Java. "Windows 7" and related materials are trademarks of Microsoft Corp.

I try to update it & it stalls, I assume because it requires Admin.

Have you downloaded & installed Vuze in a home dir subdirectory ~/vuze? Reason is probably this: the installed vuze/azureus is older than newest version, so update is downloaded, but can't be installed because you need root-rights for that. I came to Ubuntu because I want to decide how I use my computer. It didn't take long for me to find another client on Ubuntu. No reason to give up my control to a app that wants to sell me stuff. Vuze automatically downloaded an upgrade to itself, then told me it was going to have to restart to install the upgrade.

It restarted every 3 minutes but never installed the upgrade. To uninstall go to SPM and search for Azureus then choose to completely uninstall all packages to get rid of the remnants of Vuze.
